How to be confident is also how to be attractive, how to be popular and how to be out going. All of these qualities require confidence.
What is CONFIDENCE? Confidence is believing in yourself.
Confidence comes from over coming obstacles. Even the smallest successes increase confidence. Small successes are very important to notice as large achievements come far less often. Recognize the little successes and see how they all together lead to you to greater confidence. Without confidence it is very difficult to be successful.
CONFIDENCE is NOT
Being uncertain of yourself, relying on others for strength, not speaking up for yourself, not reaching out and not trying something new.
Overcome Obstacles And Build Confidence
Obstacles are a fact of life. Everyone has to deal with them. Some are: fear of meeting new people, performing in front of a crowd, going on an interview or audition, changing jobs, changing schools, trying out for something you love, or just getting the nerve up to ask someone out. Regardless of what your fears may be, every time you overcome an obstacle you gain a little more confidence.
Remember when you first learned to ride a bike without help from anyone? You felt like you were on top of the world. That feeling was your confidence kicking in.
In order to overcome the fear of riding a bike without training wheels, you became bold. You may have said something to yourself similar to this, “I’m going to do it, and I don’t care what happens!” Your boldness and your courage worked together. The sense of accomplishment that followed made you feel strong. The accomplishment also gave you strength and knowledge to overcome future obstacles. This strength and knowledge would never have been gained if you chose not to make that attempt in the first place.
Do you see now, the importance of overcoming obstacles? Overcoming obstacles helps us all grow inwardly and outwardly, young and old. That’s why it is so important. Being courageous and bold is to move ahead when faced with the unknown, to take a chance and step out of a place we feel comfortable. When we act bold we must take responsibility for our actions, wrong or right, good or bad no matter the outcome. Sometimes we make fools of ourselves, but even then we learn and grow. Remember this, nothing worth while has ever been achieved without taking some type of chance.
Taking action and trying something new makes you feel alive! Inaction leaves us feeling empty and unaccomplished. If we always play it safe we will never be prepared for new challenges. We will not grow, learn and experience. We will become stagnant and our confidence will be destroyed.
IMPORTANT: The action you take must be moved by your good conscience. There are a lot of people out there who take action against what they know in their heart to be the right thing to do. Our actions must always be with conscience! An action you take must not ever destroy your morality and your positive spirit within. Character (moral character) ranks above all in importance! It’s what gives you inner strength and is the foundation of confidence.
